Peter writes these verses to remind scattered believers that their truest identity isn’t defined by where they live, what they’ve lost, or how the world sees them. Instead, he anchors them in God’s choosing, God’s mercy, and God’s purpose. In a world where they feel like outsiders, Peter calls them God’s treasured people—set apart to reflect His character and announce His goodness. And because of that identity, their everyday lives become a powerful witness, showing the beauty of Christ even in a culture that may not understand them. Our study will follow the outline below:

The Heart of the Matter

6. Peter emphasizes that believers are a ‘genos eklekton’ — a chosen race — defined not by ethnicity but by God’s gracious call. How then should NLC’s identity as a “chosen race” (v. 9) shape our unity in a multicultural city like Abu Dhabi?
