In Exodus 6:6-13, God reassures Moses of His unwavering plan to redeem Israel, outlining His seven “I will” statements that emphasize His power, faithfulness, and personal commitment to His people. Each promise reinforces His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, highlighting His role as both Redeemer and Provider. Our study will follow the outline below:

God declares that He has heard Israel’s suffering and remembers His promise, showing His compassion and faithfulness (v.5). He then outlines seven “I will” statements (vv.6-8), emphasizing His active role in redemption.

At the heart of this passage is God’s repeated declaration: “I am the LORD.” This phrase anchors His promises, reminding both Moses and Israel that deliverance is guaranteed—not because of human effort, but because of God’s covenantal faithfulness. The Israelites, however, struggle to believe because of their broken spirits (v.9), highlighting how suffering can weaken faith, yet God's promises remain unshaken.

6. The Israelites’ broken spirit prevented them from listening to Moses. How do discouragement and suffering affect your ability to trust God's promises, and how can you overcome them?
